Dennis J. Cohorst, 75, of Green Bay, passed away on August 28, 2024 at St Vincent Hospital.
He was born on May 28, 1949 to Joseph and Lillian (Powers) Cohorst in Menominee, MI. He graduated from Peshtigo High School in 1967 and following graduation he attended NWTC where he earned an Associate's Degree. Dennis worked for Fort Howard starting in 1968 until June 1, 2004. Shortly after he started working for the Green Bay Packers until 2019.
On September 13, 1969, he married Beth Foley. Together they lived and raised their two sons in Green Bay. Dennis was a member of the Moose Lodge #801 since 1995. He was a Boy Scout Master and had eight Eagle Scouts during his time there. He was also a Hunter Education instructor and an avid hunter himself until it got too cold. He enjoyed bowling, where he had two perfect games. He helped take care of the Golden Arrow Archery Club and enjoyed archery as well. He also loved woodworking, lawn care and making "Grandpa's world famous waffles" for the grandkids.
Dennis is survived by his loving wife, Beth; sons, Dennis (Trina) and Dan (Amanda); grandchildren: Autumn, Aliyah, Ainsley, Garrett, Clara and Bennett; sisters: Susan Wright and Laurie (Steve) Albers; sister-in-law, Donna Madary; brother-in-law, John (Donna) Foley; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Patty Jo and Mary; his father and mother-in-law, Ernie and Loraine Foley; and brother in law, Paul Madary.
Visitation will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 340 S. Monroe Ave, Green Bay, Wisconsin. A funeral service will follow after at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Unity Hospice and the staff on the 9th floor of St. Vincent Hospital, along with Dr. Conner Roberts.
