Denise M. Spalla, 61, Green Bay, passed away peacefully with her loving husband at her side on Friday, April 18, 2014. She was born on June 19, 1952 in LaCrosse, WI, to the late Herbert and Rosalie (Ducharme) Spalla. Denise was the youngest of 13 children. She lived her younger years in DeSoto, WI, where she graduated from DeSoto High School with the class of 1970. Denise later attended Eau Claire State and then pursued work in Milwaukee as a CNA. She moved to Green Bay in 1971, where her daughter, Kerry Gaffney was born in 1975. Denise married husband Mark Lardinois on April 14, 2001. She worked at APAC for 12 years as a Hotwire.com call specialist.
Survivors include her husband, Mark; daughter, Kerry (Ben) Englebert; adored grandson, Brody Englebert; siblings, Herbert (Eva) Spalla, Veronica Tressner, David Spalla, Anthony (Margaret) Spalla, Rosalie Halverson, Mary Whitney, Thomas Spalla, Stella (John) Weber, Jeaninne (Donald) McAllister, John (Jean) Spalla, and Ann (Doug) Harvey; and countless nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Denise was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Francis Spalla.
Family and friends may call Monday, April 28, 2014, at St. Bernard Catholic Parish, 2040 Hillside Ln., Green Bay, from 9:30am until 11:00am. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at the church on Monday at 11:00am with Rev. Mark Vander Steeg officiating. Burial will be at Allouez Catholic Cemetery.
The family is grateful for the support and compassion of the Aurora Hospice staff, especially Val and Sheila. Also thank you to the staffs at Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic and Manor Care West for their care. Special thanks to Father Mark and Sister Caroline from St. Bernard Parish for their pastoral support.
