Delroy L. "Del" Mayer, age 89, of Pulaski, passed away peacefully, Thursday, October 31, with his loving wife at his side. He was born December 21, 1934 in Collegeville, MN, son of the late Lawrence and Olga (Mumm) Mayer.

Del enlisted in the US Army in March of 1955 and proudly served his country as a tank commander with the 2/69, 62nd Armor Tank BN division, stationed in Frankfurt, Germany, until his honorable discharge in March of 1958. The day after he completed his military service, Del met Lenora Theis, who would later become his wife. Del and Lenora were married June 2, 1959 in St. Cloud, MN at Holy Angels Church. They celebrated 65 years of marriage this year. 

Del and Lenora moved to Green Bay after they got married. Del began driving truck for Green Bay Chicago Lines, a career that spanned 33 years. Del and Lenora relocated to Abrams where they owned a dairy farm from 1975 to about 1978. They later moved to Brookside, WI, where they milked 45 head of cattle on that farm until 2000. They moved at that time to their dream home in Pulaski, WI, where they resided for the last 25 years.

Del was a talented jack of all trades and loved to take on any projects. He had a great sense of humor and had a knack for remembering jokes. Delroy was a devout Catholic and active member of the The Institute of Christ the King.

Del is survived by his wife, Lenora; 4 children: Linda (Mike) Mucha, Wayne Mayer, Lori (Steve) Deneys and Brian (Cindy) Mayer; daughter-in-law, Tracy (Kelly) Gerondale; 9 grandchildren: Bill Curnutte, Kathryn Elertson, Brittany (Cole) Kasten, Kris (Amanda) Deneys, Molly Mayer, Mallory (Sam) Grogan, Mariah Mucha, Abby Mucha and Sophie Gerondale; 4 great-grandchildren: Hadley Elertson, Elise Kasten, Collin Deneys and Violet Deneys and 3 sisters: Virginia "Gin" Dahl, Dorothy (Ken) Theis and Donna Little. He is further survived by sisters-in-law: Georgie Holthaus, Jan Theis and Sherry Mayer; brother-in-law, Dave Regouski; many, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Michael Delroy Mayer; siblings: Robert "Bud" (Ann) Mayer, Don (Bernice) Mayer, Lou (Fran) Blais, James Mayer, Lil (Louie) Mayer, Carol Mayer and Ken Mayer; father and mother-in-law, Bill and Elizabeth Theis; brothers-in-law: Aldi Dahl and George Holthaus and Bob Theis and sister-in-law, Mary Ann Regouski.

Visitation will be held at Newcomer Chapel (340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay, WI), Wednesday, November 6, 2024 from 4 to 7 PM with a prayer service at 6:45 PM. A High Requiem Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick Oratory (211 N. Maple Ave., Green Bay, WI), Thursday, November 7, 2024 at 10 AM, with Canon Antoine Boucheron, celebrant. Full military honors will follow. Burial will be in Nicolet Memorial Gardens. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials directed to your home parish for memorial Masses in Del's name are appreciated.
