Debra "Debbie" M. (Aures) Vanderkinter, age 58, of Green Bay, passed away Monday, November 7, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born March 4, 1958, daughter of the late Willard and Audrey (Naud) Aures.
Debra married her first husband in 1975 and they had 2 children, Juanita and Loren, before they divorced in 2003. She married Harold "Butch" Vanderkinter in 2005 and together they shared 11 loving years of marriage.
Debbie enjoyed being with friends and family and especially loved being with her grandchildren. Her hobbies included baking, playing cards, going to the casino, dancing, going for rides, going to rummage sales/thrift shops and spending time with her hubby. Debbie always looked forward to planning her yearly weekend with her 2 childhood friends, Joann Koss and Wanda Steinbrecher-they called themselves the "Golden Girls." She also enjoyed playing with her dog Maggie and bumming with her Aunt Bette. Debbie always had a smile for you and her cheerful nature will be dearly missed by her friends and family.
Debra is survived by her husband, Harold "Butch," her daughter, Juanita (Larry) Lofton; her granddaughter, Monica; her grandson, Tyler; step-daughters, Angie (Pat) Cothren and Corinne Vanderkinter; step-grandchildren, Maggie and Truitt Cothern; a brother, Tom (Pat) Aures; a sister, Bonnie Sweeney; sister-in-law, Hazel (Dennis) Kubichka; brother-in-law, Ken (Janice) Vanderkinter and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Loren Hubert and a brother-in-law, Leroy Vanderkinter.
Visitation will be held at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME (340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay), Friday, November 11, 2016 from 4 to 6:45 PM. A funeral ceremony will follow at 7 PM.
Debbie's request is for no flowers to be sent. She loved dolphins and seashells.
In 2011 Debbie was diagnosed with lung cancer. Debbie and the family would like to extend a thank you to the wonderful teams at Bellin Cancer Center and to Unity Hospice (especially Melanie and Molly) for putting Debbie and her family at ease during her battle. Thank you also to her husband, Butch for all of the love and support he gave to her through their years together. A special thank you, as well, to her family and friends that were there for her during her life. She loved you all!
