Deanna L. Vanden Langenberg, age 50, of Algoma, passed away peacefully at home, Sunday, February 25, 2024, surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born June 12, 1973 in Green Bay, daughter of George R. and Sheila M. (Sipponen) Konkel.
Deanna graduated from Bay Port High School, Class of 1991. She continued her education at UW-Green Bay, earning her Bachelor's Degree in Education. Teaching Pre-K at Encompass was where she started her teaching career. She taught 2nd and 3rd grade at Sawyer and Sunrise Elementary Schools in Sturgeon Bay for the last 5 years. Deanna and Scott jumped in their car on a whim, many times with their daughter, Natasha, and set off on one of their many adventures. Traveling was their passion and she also had a soft spot in her heart for animals, especially her dog, Duke and 3 cats: Callie, Lily and Paws.
Deanna is survived by her husband, Scott; her daughter, Natasha; her mother, Sheila Konkel and her siblings: Robert Konkel, Mark Konkel, Steven (Emily Hull) Konkel and Bruce Helland. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, George Konkel.
