David Lee Topel Jr.

David Lee Topel Jr, age 58, of Green Bay WI, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on Thursday, January 4th 2024.

David was born on March 28th,1965 and is the the oldest of 5 children born to David and Jean Topel. He graduated from Green Bay West High School in 1984 and shortly after joined the United Sates Navy. Graduating from basic training in 1986, he went through A School to be a Hospital Corpsman in Great Lakes IL. It's there he met his ex wife Kristina Topel and had their 3 children in the following years.

David served Honorably at Naval Hospital in Bremerton, Washington until 1988 and then headed back to Green Bay WI in October of that year to begin his over 30 year tenure at Bellin Hospital. David wore many hats at Bellin. He was a courier driver delivering specimens from lab to lab to most recently working in the lab as a Histotechnician. He was very proud of his military service and his long time at Bellin Hospital. He loved making people laugh and made people smile wherever he went. David was an avid golfer, loved the game and even played early morning rounds before clocking into work. His love of the game even lead to a trip to Scotland to play at the legendary Old Course at St. Andrews.

David is survived by his children: Amanda, Michael and Travis; his grandchildren: Amerson, Gracelyn and Maxwell; his brothers: Danial (Danny) and Darrell (Bucky); his sisters: Tina and Brenda; his aunt, Theresa Hoefler; his mother, Jean; his nieces: Alicia, Brittany and Cassandra; his nephew, Christopher.

A Visitation Gathering will be held on January 10th, 2024 from 11am to 2pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, address 340 S Monroe Street, Green Bay WI 54303.
