David John Rudnick died on July 16th at the age of 61 after a nine month battle against glioblastoma brain cancer and one week after celebrating his 40th wedding anniversary with his devoted wife Gail. David, the son of Leo and Veronica (Ver Haagh) Rudnick, was born on July 19th 1955 in Green Bay and grew up on the family farm. David graduated from Pulaski High School in 1973 and went on to earn an Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering from NWTC. On July 9th 1977 he married Gail Bosar at Assumption BVM church in Pulaski. David worked as a CNC machinist at FMC for 10 years, and then 28 years at Paper Converting Machine Corporation.
With his passing the world has lost a man who enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and being around big machines. For all his days David never lost his youthful enthusiasm to go out and drive a tractor, experiment with technology, or to go see diggers in action. He even collected toys of his beloved machinery which only grew including a drone he liked to fly.
He enjoyed all aspects of fishing from being out on the water to tinkering on his boat in the garage with friends. In fact, tinkering may have been the best part cause he was a man who loved to build: Cabinets, can crushers, a shadow box for model trains and a potato gun he named "Burger Boomer 2000" only name a few of the things he built over his life.
David is survived by his loving wife, Gail (Bosar); his daughter Paige (Jocelyn); his mother, Veronica; 8 siblings: Mary Lee (James "Jim") Rudnick-Kaun, Sharon (Tom) Sturke, Ann (Andy) Bos, Janice (Jeff) Jungenburg, Nancy (Kevin) Hoppe, Donald (Mary) Rudnick, Michael (Monica) Rudnick and Steve Rudnick; In-laws Gary (Sheila) Bosar, Curtiss (Patti) Bosar, Brian (Denise) Bosar, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family pet Shadow, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leo and family pet Rudy.
Visitation will be held at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME (340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay), Saturday, July 22, 2017 from 10:30 to 12:30 PM. A celebration of David's life will follow at 12:30 to 1:00 PM.
