David J. Hartl

October 27, 1939 — January 23, 2024

David J. Hartl, age 84, of Green Bay, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at the Unity Hospice Residence in De Pere, WI. He was born October 27, 1939 in Green Bay, WI, the youngest child of the late John and Mary (Enders) Hartl and was a graduate of Premontre High School, Class of 1957.

David worked for Proctor & Gamble in the accounting department for his entire career. He was a proud member of a P & G bowling team "The Bookies" since 1968. He was a faithful member of St. Francis Xavier Cathedral.

Growing up as a young man, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Later, he took up golfing and bowling with friends and coworkers. He looked forward to his many outings with his P & G friends, including Thursday morning breakfast at The Grapevine Cafe. Dave was fortunate to have wonderful friends and neighbors and enjoyed their spontaneous gatherings. David loved trips to the casino, especially family trips to Las Vegas, Carter and Watersmeet. Spending time with family was very important to David. He always looked forward to family holiday get-togethers in Milwaukee, the annual reunion at Bay Beach and visits to Florida and Michigan.

David was a devoted son who lovingly cared for his parents later in their life, allowing them to remain in their home.

David is survived by 4 siblings: Charmaine Kraft, Helen (Dick) Alderton, Donald "Chuck" (Sandy) Hartl and Vicky Blommer, as well as numerous and much loved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 siblings, Donna (Jack) DeWalt and John (Kay) Hartl and his nephew, Jack DeWalt Jr.

Visitation will be held at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral (140 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay, WI), Friday, February 2, 2024 from 9 to 11 AM. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 AM with Fr.
