David L. Gerondale, 71, of Shawano, WI, beloved husband of Carol (Heston) Gerondale, departed this life on Easter Sunday, March 27, 2016 at Theda Clark Hospital in Neenah.
Dave was born on October 18, 1944 in Forestville, WI, son of Madeline (Gilson) Gerondale and the late Melvin Gerondale. He was raised on a farm until moving to Green Bay and graduated from Premontre Catholic High School Class of 1962. Dave married Marcine Lessmiller in 1964 and they raised three sons. He worked at U.S. Plywood in Algoma, and Mrs. Karl's Bakery in Green Bay. Dave worked for Wisconsin Public Service which became the City of Green Bay Transit System as a Bus Driver. He was promoted in 1979 to Superintendent of Operations retiring in 2007 after 40 years. He later married Carol in 1989.
Dave is survived by his wife of 26 years Carol of Shawano in addition his three sons: Jay (Linda), Kelly (Tracy), and Cory (Diann) Gerondale. He also leaves his step-children: Cherie (Chris) Sparkman, Charles Jr. (Theresa) Heston, Cindy (Rod) VanderZanden, Chris (Kim) Heston, and Carrie (Wally) Janssen along with 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Dave also leaves his siblings: Dennis (Deborah), Mike (Debbie), Brenda (Mark) Henry, and Therese (Pat) Glodowski along with numerous nieces and nephews. Dave is preceded in death by his grandparents: Alphonse and Laura Gerondale, and Fabian and Clara Gilson, along with a sister Bonnie Massart, and aunts, uncles, cousins, and infant nephew Steven.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 31st from 3 - 6 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 340 S. Monroe Avenue, Green Bay. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home at 6 PM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contribution in Dave's honor may be directed to: Theda Care at Home Hospice, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
