David C. DeGrave, 59, of Green Bay, joined his father and brother in Heaven on April 5, 2024 at home after a two year battle with cancer. He was born on February 25, 1965 to Edward and Adeline (Bertrand) DeGrave in Green Bay.
Dave was blunt and always told it like it was. No beating around the bush, but was a very passionate and caring man. He enjoyed painting, he learned from a local company and then continued making sign for businesses and friends. You may have seen his signs around town. He had various jobs around town after his painting career and the last 12 years he was employed by NEW Tech Metals in Green Bay. He was proud of his Belgium heritage going to Joe Roure's for a hamburger and cheesecake. Then heading for a ride to the Belgium Heritage Center in Brussels. His famous goodbye was, "Behave don't be Dave."
David is survived by his loving mother, Adeline DeGrave and special friend, Lloyd Bunker, four brothers: Dennis DeGrave, Robert "Beako" (Lynn) DeGrave, William (Bonita) DeGrave, and Paul (Karen) DeGrave; one sister, Kathryn DeGrave, one sister-in-law, Jayne (Freddie) DeGrave, 12 nieces and nephews, 17 great-nieces and nephews, and further survived by other relatives and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward DeGrave, one brother, John DeGrave, one nephew, Travis DeGrave.
Visitation will be held Saturday, April 13, 2024, 1:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 340 S Monroe Ave. Green Bay, with funeral services to follow at 4:00 pm.
The family would like to extend a thank you to Aurora Cancer Center, and Aurora Hospice, especially all the Jessicas and doctors on his care team.
