David J. Coopman

February 13, 1953 — May 2, 2018

David J. Coopman, 65, of Suamico, passed away peacefully May 2, 2018.

David was born on February 13, 1953 in Green Bay, son of Lois (Gagnon) Coopman and the late Donald Coopman. He was a proud veteran, serving his country in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam. He married the love of his life Rebekah Massey in Suamico on August 31, 1973.

Dave deeply loved his family. He enjoyed riding his Harley and fishing the waters of Wisconsin. One of his greatest accomplishments was 28 years of sobriety. His greatest joy in life was being a grandfather, and the treasured moments he spent with his grandchildren.

Dave will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Becky, and their daughters: Christy (Eric) Liebe, and Betsy (Chris Triptow) Coopman, grandchildren, Bailee, Mason, and Claire Liebe, Norah Hoff, and Paige Triptow. David is further survived by his mother, Lois Coopman, and siblings: Janis (Bert) Roberts, Mary (Rich) Ebben, Diane (Tom) Madigan, Bonnie (Al) Mitchell, Don (Laura) Coopman, Carol Coopman, and Sherry (Rick Fowles) Coopman, and brother-in-law, Terry Massey. Dave also leaves numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. He is preceded in death by a daughter, Angela Coopman, his father Donald, in-laws, Gertrude and Lloyd Massey, and brother-in-law Bill Compton.

A private celebration of Dave's life will be held at a future date.

Dave's family wishes to extend their deep gratitude for the wonderful care given to him by the staff of Unity Hospice during his illness.
