David C. Kensmoe

May 30, 1935 — April 21, 2015

David C. Kensmoe, age 79, of Green Bay, passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, April 21, 2015. He was born May 27, 1935 in Whitehall, WI to the late Otto and Clara (Loga) Kensmoe.

David graduated from Blair High School. He married Phyllis (Marker) Kensmoe, March 30, 1957 and they enjoyed 58 loving years of marriage together. David worked 30 years as a vocational teacher at the Green Bay Correctional Institution. David maintained a heating and cooling business on the side and was always available to lend a hand to anyone in need of his help or services. He also fancied himself quite an inventor.

David was an avid outdoorsman and sports fanatic. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, organic gardening, golfing and watching sports of all kinds, but especially the Packers, Badgers and UW Green Bay men's and women's basketball. Most of all, David enjoyed watching his grandchildren's sporting events. David had a great love for animals, especially his dogs.

David's greatest joy was gathering his family together. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; his three children: Jeff (Kimmie) Kensmoe of Seattle, WA, Nancy Kensmoe of Green Bay and Donny (Jennifer) Kensmoe of Green Bay; 5 grandchildren: Jonah, Emily, Autumn, Charlie and Cooper; great-granddaughter, Ellie; brother, Glenn (Georgia) Kensmoe of Seattle, WA; sister, Leona (the late Dick) Amundson of West Salem, WI; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Otto and Clara Kensmoe and 7 siblings: Truman, Wallace, Donald, Russell, Verna, Willard and Edna.

Friends and family may call Monday, April 27, 2015 from 10 AM to 12 NOON at Fort Howard Memorial Park (1350 N. Military Ave., Green Bay). A funeral service will follow at 12 NOON.
