David James Baumberger, 72, passed away gracefully on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 surrounded by his family. He was born on May 12, 1948 in Rice Lake, WI.
David served our country valiantly for 20 plus years in the United States Army as a career soldier where he served 2 tours in Vietnam. He married the love of his life, Barbara, in 1977 in Germany. After retiring from the Army, he spent over 20 years working at St. Vincent Hospital. He was a very dedicated husband, father and a most wonderful and proud grandpa, never missing any sporting events; he was truly their biggest fan. He loved to spend time in his garden and with his dogs. He loved being up north at his cabin driving his ATV. In his spare time, he could be found tinkering with all of his toys in his garage. David was an avid baseball fan and enjoyed watching the Packers. He is our teacher, warrior and hero forever.
David is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; children: Tom (Joni) Baumberger, Tanja Baumberger and Tina (Scott) Vanderlogt; grandsons: David and Bryce Vanderlogt and his siblings: Fred (Sally) Baumberger, John (Nancy) Baumberger, Esther Swan, Jeanie Elson, Virginia Apfel and sister-in-law, Shannon Baumberger.
