Darrill M. Peltier, 83, passed away peacefully on January 16th, 2022 with his wife by his side. He was born in Negaunee, MI on July 20th, 1938 to the late James and Edna (McEwing) Peltier. After the death of his mother in 1941, he was raised by his loving stepmother, Lou.
Darrill graduated from Alpha High School in 1956. He joined the United States Army and spent three years in Germany. On December 26th, 1959 he married the love of his life, Janice Frizzo.
Darrill went on to attend Northern University and completed his Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Education. He was employed for the Green Bay Public School system for 33 years until he retired in 1998.
He volunteered for the Bellevue Fire Department for 15 years and was a member of the Bellevue Park Board for ten years. He also volunteered as a Red Cross Driver.
Darrill enjoyed spending his summers at his favorite place on Stager Lake in MI with his wife and all of his special friends and family, especially with his childhood friend Jim Rossi.
Darrill is survived by his wife of 62 years, Janice Peltier; his daughter Christine (Troy) Buettner and daughter-in-law Cathy Peltier; grandchildren: Megan (Tom) Helgeson, Matthew (Sandra) Buettner and Alexandra (Jonathan Harney) Peltier; three great-grandchildren: Cole and Emmett Helgeson, and Miles Buettner; brother-in-law Robert (Susan) Frizzo, and sister-in-law SueAnne Frizzo. He is further survived by many treasured friends and family. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his stepmother Lou Peltier; his son Steven Peltier; his brother Ronald Peltier, and his brother-in-law David Frizzo.
Visitation for Darrill will be held on Friday, January 28th, 2022 at Newcomer- Green Bay Chapel (340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay, WI 54301) from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM. A Prayer Service will follow at 12:00 PM.
The family asks that everyone please wear a mask while attending Darrill's visitation and prayer service.
