Darrel D. Bricco, age 64, of Green Bay, passed away Monday, August 8, 2016 after a brief illness. He was born February 1, 1952 in Green Bay, son of the late Gaylord and Adeline (Preuss) Bricco and was a 1970 graduate of Green Bay Southwest High School.
Darrel enlisted in the United States Air Force and while serving at Loring Air Force Base in Maine, he met the love of his life, Ellen Gallagher. They were married April 2, 1982 and together shared 34 years of marriage and raised a son, Alexander.
He worked for many years in the video production business at Channel 26 and Time Warner Cable. After retiring from Time Warner, he continued his love of videography by starting his own video production business and had been working on several videos for car shows in the area.
Darrel was a very involved parent and was an assistant Scout Master in his son's Boy Scout Troop 1041. Darrel and Alex have many fond memories of camping, especially at Gardner Dam Camp.
Darrel loved cooking, photography, gardening, video production, music, movies, traveling, camping, fishing with his brother, Dennis and nephew, Zach and of course, Packers football. He loved traveling with his family, especially the trips to California, Florida and North Carolina and yearly trips to Maine. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother, uncle and friend and will be greatly missed.
Darrel is survived by his wife, Ellen; son, Alexander (special friend Virginia Champeau); brother, Dennis (Chris) Bricco; sister, Darlene (special friend, John Ridgley) Bricco; brother-in-law, Carl (Janis) Gallagher; sisters in law: Diane Gallagher, Virginia (David) Thompson and Marcia Gallagher; mother-in-law, Lillace Gallagher and aunt, Dolores Zehren. He is further survived by very special nieces and nephews: Holly, Andrea, Zachary, Hannah, Emma, Joseph, Erin, Daniel, Barbara, Jared, John and Samuel; several great-nieces and nephews; cousins and many good friends.
Visitation will be held at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME (340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay), Friday, August 12, 2016 from 4 to 6:45 PM. A memorial service will follow at 7 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials directed to the American Cancer Society or other charity of your choice, in Darrel's name, are appreciated.
