Daniel Paul Priewe, was born January 29, 1931 to the late Paul and Laura (Barlament) Priewe. He died Sunday, August 19, 2012. Dan graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1948. He happily called the Green Bay area home all of his life except when he proudly served in the U. S. Marine Corp from 1951 to 1953.
Dan grew up in the depression era where the values of being thrifty, hard work, and making the most of everything transcended his life. His values of faith, family, charity, and service to others were present until the very end of his life.
Dan worked at Fairmont Foods (Kemps), St. Vincent Hospital, Encompass Early Education and Care, Konop Companies, and most recently at Home Instead Senior Care. His favorite "hobby" (besides working) was cutting down trees and delivering firewood.
Survivors include his wife, Janis K. (Abel) and his children Mark (Julie) Priewe, Barbara (Mark) Baye, Roberta (Brad) Beckman, Daniel (Sharyn) Priewe, James (Julie) Priewe, Jane (Jerry) Watzka, and Bradley (Lisa) Bosar. Also surviving are grandchildren, Brian (Angie) Ness, Kevin Ness, Jennifer and Michelle Stefens, Matt Baye, Sara (Chris) Rismeyer, Shauna Schuette, Tyler (Tammy) Priewe, Mindy Priewe, Jordan, Justin and Jenna Priewe, Nicole and Chaz Watzka, Logan and Abbey Bosar, and five great-grandchildren, Morgan and Brenna Ness, Brayden Watzka, Evelyn Winters, and Tabitha Priewe. He is further survived by his sisters, Virginia Mongin, Lorraine Smits, Loretta (Dennis) Meyers, and Margaret (Tim) Eggen, as well as brothers, Richard, David (Phyllis), and Tony (Carol). He is also survived by Jan's family Lester (Joyce) Abel and Ronald (Jean) Abel and many nieces and nephews all of whom were his favorite.
Preceding Dan in death was a son-in-law, Ken Nicklos, brother-in-laws, Ambrose Mongin and Henry Smits, and sister-in-law Gerda Priewe, as well as three of his best friends, Merlin Gorzlancyk, John Vandenberg and Ken Obenberger.
