Daniel V. Lorenz

Daniel Victor Lorenz, 72, of Bellevue, died peacefully surrounded by family on February 1, 2025 at St Mary's Hospital. 

He was born on July 7, 1952 to Victor and Mary (Zinkel) Lorenz in Manitowoc, WI. He married Carolyn Otto on August 24 of 1974 and welcomed their son Timothy in 1979.

Dan and Carol were proud volunteer firefighters for the Town of Morrison beginning in 1984, where Dan remained an honorary member even after his active service had ended. He was a skilled auto body technician and owned his own shop for 35 years. 

Dan had a deep love for the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman, instilling that same enthusiasm in his son, Tim, who was often his companion on various outdoor excursions. He never missed an opportunity to spend time fishing with his granddaughter Kaitlyn, whom he doted on and refinished a boat for last summer. 

From the fruit trees he carefully tended to the beautiful flowers he was known for cultivating, Dan had a knack for gardening and making things grow. He had a larger than life sense of humor, and never missed the opportunity to crack a "dad joke" or make a pun. 

Dan will be missed by his wife Carolyn (Carol), son and daughter-in-law Tim and Nikki Lorenz; his three grandchildren Kaitlyn Lorenz and Quinn and Lynn Gordon; sister and brother-in-law Bonnie and Casey Schefelbein; brothers and sisters-in-law Allan Otto, Glenn and Debby Otto, Wayne Otto, Janice Otto, Judy Otto, Carl and Ruth Hagenow, and many, many, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, and great-grandnieces and grandnephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and his mother and father in law, sisters-in-law Kathryn Hagenow and Peggy Otto; brothers-in-law Warren Otto and Lee Schisel; and nephew David Otto. 

Visitation will take place on Saturday, February 8, 2025 from 8:30 am - 10:30 am at Immanuel Lutheran Church (3735 Shirley Rd, De Pere, WI 54115). A Funeral Ceremony will take place at 11:00 am immediately following. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Morrison Volunteer Fire Department.
