Daniel J. "Cowboy" Rosera Sr., 90, Green Bay, passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2013, with family by his side.
He was born on August 16, 1923, in Milwaukee, WI.
In his early years, Dan worked for the Green Bay & Western Railroad, where he met his wife Rosaline Delloye. He later worked for Pauly Cheese for over 40 years until his retirement. He worked part time at the Vic Theater as a ticket taker, sneaking in Packer players with free admission, for which he was compensated with autographed footballs from Super Bowl I & II. During his lifetime, Dan enjoyed making Rosary's for church's, missions, friends and family members. It is said that his Rosary's are spread throughout the world. He also enjoyed drawing, sketching, water color and writing poetry. Christmas was his favorite holiday and would take hours to make ornaments and cookies during the holidays. Dan volunteered at Paul's Pantry for several years and took joy in serving others. One of his favorite joys was taking his children & grandchildren on Sunday walks on the railroad tracks. To this day, his children still enjoy trains and the tracks.
Survivors include six children, Sandra Rosera, Mary Ann (Kevin) Kakuk, Bonnie (Ronald) Arens, Daniel J. (Cindy) Rosera Jr., Bernadette Rosera and Michael (Sherri) Rosera; grandchildren, Kevin (Dawn) MacRaven, Timothy (Ann) Arens, Jessica Arens, Jason Rosera, Joshua (Nicole) Topel, and Logan Rosera; great-grandchildren, Angar, John, Kristen, Matthew, Elizabeth, Dallas, and Cheyenne; great great grandchild, Liam.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Rosaline; mother, Agnes Rosera; cats, Booger, Patches and Killer and dog Snoopy.
Friends may call from 10:00am until 12:00pm on Tuesday, November 12, 2013, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay. A funeral service will be held at 12:00pm on Tuesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
The family would like to thank the ER and 7th floor doctors & staff at St. Vincent's Hospital and Unity Hospice for the care of their father.
