Dalen (Dale) Skaletski, 85, of Abrams, WI passed away on Monday June 20, 2016 of natural causes. He was born on March 29, 1931 in Green Bay to the late George and Helen (Lotto) Skaletski. He attended Eaton School & St Cyril & Methodius. On July 14, 1951 he married Grace VanDenHeuvel. From his early days in the logging camps, gravel pits and family farms, his 65 years of being in the drivers seat as a truck driver, he kept watch and detailed memories of the day to day activities of the farms and fields. He was one of the oldest CDL drivers in Wisconsin.
Dalen is survived by Grace, his wife of nearly 65 years; nine children, Christine Pleuss, Robert Skaletski, Mark (Gayle) Skaletski, Lonie Walker, Julie (Charles) Schlesinger, Jennifer (Ranny) Rasmussen, Jill (Langlay) Tellez, Bennett (Vicky) Skaletski and Bert (Jarmila) Skaletski, 26 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Dalen also leaves his siblings: Chickie (Toad) Surman, Mary (Ardie) Cisler, Jerry (Shirley) Skaletski, Jeanne (Tom) Schaller, Danny (Bev) Skaletski, Michael (Charlene) Skaletski, Anne (Jim) Edwards.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Helen Skaletski, brothers, Tommy and Francis and grandchild, Louis Rowe.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 340 S Monroe Avenue, Green Bay WI, on Thursday, June 23, 2016. The rosary will be recited at 7 PM in the funeral home chapel. Visitation will resume on Friday, June 24th from 9 - 10:30 AM at Newcomer Funeral Home. A funeral procession will then proceed to St. Patrick Oratory, 211 N Maple Street, Green Bay WI, where a Requiem High Mass will be offered for the repose of his soul at 11 AM. He was a very pious, prayerful man and an advocate of the classical Roman Rite of the Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Allouez Catholic Cemetery.
At the family's request memorial contributions will be made to the Institute of Christ the King. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
