Curtis D. Magiary

June 9, 1928 — March 19, 2022

Curtis David Joseph Magiary, age 93, of Seymour, passed from life, Saturday, March 19, 2022. He was born June 9, 1928 in Oconto Falls, WI, son of the late Rueben and Evelyn (Beauleau) Magiary.

Curtis enlisted in the US Army in 1946 and proudly served his country until his honorable discharge in 1947. He was employed by Aspen Tree Company and retired from the City of Appleton Parks & Rec Department where he worked as a tree trimmer for many years. Curtis married June Jesse, April 25, 1953 and was blessed with 3 daughters. He later married Phyllis Dexter and welcomed her 9 children into his life.

Curtis was a jokester and had a great sense of humor. He loved to play BINGO and called BINGO for the ARDC in Green Bay for many years. An avid outdoorsman, he loved to fish and hunt, passing his love for these hobbies to his son-in-law. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Curtis is survived by his 3 daughters: Susan (Gary) Klarner, Sandra (Joel) Rogers and Carol (Thomas) Carrell; 8 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Patsy and his brother, Robert Magiary.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis; 3 sisters: Margaret (Norbert), Lois (Harry) and Bonnie (Mox) and 2 brothers, George Magiary and Rueben "Babe" Magiary Jr.

A celebration of Curtis' life will be held at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay), Saturday, June 4, 2022 from 2 to 4 PM. A memorial service will follow at 4 PM with full military honors. The family would greatly appreciate guests to wear a facial covering.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials directed to Unity Hospice in Curtis' name are appreciated.

The family would like to thank Shepherds Inn, Seymour, and Unity Hospice for their wonderful care they gave to dad. Special thanks to Sue's husband, Gary, who helped take care of dad. He was a trooper and lost a good friend.
