On January 26th, 2022, Coleen Jane DeNamur took her final breath, surrounded by her children after a short battle with illness.
The sun rose and the world welcomed Coleen on November 8th, 1950, a day the world became a little brighter. Shortly after graduating from Iron Mountain High School, Coleen moved to Green Bay, WI to attend classes at NWTC. Coleen worked at Piggly Wiggly for more than a decade and took pride in her work as a cook and assistant manager, yet always found time to help others through her volunteering at local pantries and as a Stephen Minister with Nativity Church. After retirement, Coleen enjoyed helping with the Eagles Club, in which she joined after years of attending bingo nights with her children and grandchildren. When not working, Coleen preferred to spend her time with family, shopping, or cooking more than 10 times the amount of food needed for any given event.
Coleen was preceded in death by her parents: Calvin Eyers and Joyce (Pavey) of Iron Mountain, and her brother William of Oconomowoc. She is survived by her children: Robert (Sally) DeNamur, Gina Perkins, and Angela DeNamur; grandchildren: Reece Knoll, Cayden and Liliana Perkins, and Oliver DeNamur; her brother: Calvin Eyers, Jr., and sister-in-law Dana Eyers, as well as beloved nieces and nephews. Having been a person who lived a full and warm life, filled with kindness and love, Coleen is also survived by many more children and grandchildren through the love of her children's friends. She will be fondly remembered and sorely missed.
Coleen requested a celebration of life be held in her honor as opposed to traditional funeral services. We request all of Coleen's loved ones to join us in celebrating her beautiful life at Newcomer- Green Bay Chapel (340 S. Monroe Avenue, Green Bay, WI 54301) on February 4th, 2022. Visitation starts at 2 pm, with services following at 4 pm.
