Christopher C. Nikolai

Christopher Chad Nikolai, age 48, passed away unexpectedly of a heart attack, Monday, June 6, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 21, 1973 in Wausau, WI, son of Ron Nikolai Sr. and the late Judy (Feranec) Nikolai.
Chris was a graduate of Ashwaubenon High School, Class of 1992. He owned and operated 2 area taverns, through which he forged many lasting friendships. He later was able to utilize his handyman talents and worked as a maintenance technician for many years at multiple establishments, including Union Congregational United Church of Christ, as well as Bornemann Nursing Home. His employers, as well as family and friends, alike, knew they could count on Chris to fix anything.
Christopher had a love of the outdoors and enjoyed many trips camping and RV'ing. He held a special place in his heart for animals and was a devoted pet dad to many rescue dogs. He was a gifted cook and loved cooking for those he loved. Chris leaves behind of legacy of love, devotion and friendship that will live on in the memory of those he has left behind.
Christopher is survived by his dad, Ron Nikolai Sr.; his brother, Ron (Kelly) Nikolai Jr.; his sister, Wendy (Joe) Skelly; his partner of 12 years, Andrew Helmann; his nieces and nephews: Billy (Becky) and Michael Nikolai and Natasha, Andrew and Logan Nikolai and Cody Skelly; great-nephew, Wyatt Nikolai and a great-niece, Charlotte Mead. He is further survived by his beloved canine companions, Sammy and Molly, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his mom, Judy Nikolai; maternal grandparents, Andrew and Irene Feranec and paternal grandparents, Tony and Loriena Nikolai.
Visitation will be held at Union Congregational Church of Christ, 716 S. Madison St., Green Bay, WI, Friday, June 10, 2022 from 9 to 11 AM. A funeral service will follow at 11 AM. Burial will be in Fort Howard Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials directed to Christopher's family are appreciated.
Christopher's family would like to extend their most sincere appreciation to the First Responders and the team at St. Vincent Hospital ICU for their care and compassion.
