Charlotte J. "Char" Athey, age 78, of Green Bay, passed away Friday, February 25, 2022 at her home, surrounded by her loving family and friends. Char was blessed to have had the opportunity to say goodbye and offer her wisdom and encouragement to all of her family and most of her close friends before she passed. She was born January 12, 1944, daughter of the late James M. and Charlotte J. (Kacalo) Bauer.
Char had a generous and compassionate nature and always put others before herself. She had a gift of maintaining friendships for a lifetime. Char always knew what people needed to hear and had such an amazing way of making everyone feel loved and appreciated.
Charlotte is survived by her daughters, Georgia (Scott) LaBrosse and Bonnie (Patrick) Stanislawski; 8 grandchildren: Samantha (Jed) Hopp, Alecia (Ben) Zook, Colton, Emmett and Garrett Stanislawski and Ashley Vickery, Emilee and Noah Mulhern and 3 great-grandchildren: Laila Hopp and Kastle and Summer Zook. She is further survived by her special friend of over 10 years, Wesley Johnson, a sister-in-law, Sandy Bauer, the father of her children, George Vickery, 2 nephews, other relatives and many, many close friends.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jody Vickery and a brother, James Bauer.
A celebration of Char's life will be held at the Comfort Suites (1951 Bond St., Green Bay), Sunday, March 13, 2022 from 12 NOON to 3 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials directed to Heartland Hospice in Char's name are appreciated.
