Charles H. Woerishofer, 76, Crivitz, WI, passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at New Care Nursing Home. He was born in Milwaukee, WI, on January 30, 1937 to the late Chester A. and Cathryn (Berthold) Woerishofer.
Charles served in the U.S. Navy from 1954 to 1958. His life long career was continuing a family tradition in baking as a baker. He was also an avid golfer, loved his Green Bay Packers and was an active member of his church and the Men's Christ Care Group. Charles retired in 1998 moving to Crivitz to enjoy his retirement years.
Charles married Catherine L. Zachow on June 28, 1958 at the St. Thomas Aquianas Church, Milwaukee, WI. They started their life together in Milwaukee and later moved to Kaukauna, WI and retired in Crivitz.
Charles is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Catherine and their 5 children: Charles Z. Woerishofer, Little Chute, WI; Bridget Bowers, Kaukauna, WI; John (Peggy) Woerishofer, Kaukauna, WI; BillieJo (Scott) Hartjes, Kaukauna, WI; and Chester (Sara) Woerishofer, Combined Locks, WI. He was a loving grandfather to, Mindy Pierre, Joshua and Jared Woerishofer, Lucas and Laura Bowers, Leah and Breeanna Hartjes, and Max and Anna Woerishofer and a great grandfather to Madison, Caleb, Caitlyn, and Jacob.
Charles is further survived by a brother, Chester (Betty) Woerishofer, Slinger, WI; sister, Charlene (Tom) Brandenberg-Bluma, Brookfield, WI; sisters-in-law, Dorothea (Don) Syriac, Bartlet, TN and Judy Johannsen, Milwaukee, WI; brother-in-law, Michael (Sarah) Zachow, Cedar Springs, MI; son-in-law, Dennis Bowers, Kaukauna, WI; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including his fishing buddy, Norm Walker.
Family and friends may call Sunday, April 7, 2013, from 1:00pm until 2:00pm at Beaver American Lutheran Church N4557 19th Rd., Beaver, WI. A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday at the church, with Pastor Chad Anderson officiating.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to New Care Nursing Home and its staff, as well as Heartland Hospice for the care of Charles.
