Charles Arcand, 91, of Green Bay, beloved husband of the late Frances (McNee) Arcand, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2021 at Unity Hospice in De Pere.
Charles was born on September 17, 1929 in Green Bay, son of the late Charles and Ethel (VanKauwenberg) Arcand. He enlisted in the U.S. Army where he obtained the rank of Sgt, and served during the Korean Conflict. He married Frances LeDale McNee on May 8, 1954 at St. Willebrord Parish. He worked for the U. S. Postal Service as a Clerk, Letter Carrier and later a Foreman, retiring in 1985. A self taught Upholsterer, he turned his part time work into a full time business and acquired "The Upholstery Shoppe" and later passed the business onto his son. In his retirement he and his wife Frances enjoyed riding his motorcycle, golfing, RVing, and spending time with their family. His faith was of great importance to him, he began worshipping at InterFaith Fellowship with his wife, now known as Living Hope Church. He is well loved and will be missed.
He is survived by eight children: Dennis, Paul (Janet), Kenneth (Gina), Mike, Duane (Vera), Todd (Dawn), Lori, and Chad (Elizabeth). Charles also leaves 24 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren in addition to a sister-in-law, Carolyn Arcand along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Charles is preceded in death by a son, Glenn, a brother, Donald, and four sisters, Dorothy Brunette, Eunice Timm, Bernice Skar, and Patricia Arcand.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 1st from 6 PM - 8 PM at Newcomer - Green Bay Chapel, 340 S. Monroe Avenue. A funeral service will follow at 8 PM with Rev. Don Olson officiating along with military honors. Interment will be in Ft. Howard Memorial Park.
The family wishes to thank his loving daughter Lori for her dedication and care over the past two years. Also to Unity Hospice for the comfort given to Charles during his final days.
