Cecelia Mae Chlopek

May 13, 1927 — April 29, 2018

Cecelia Mae Chlopek, age 90, formerly of Pulaski, passed away Sunday, April 29, 2018 at the Jack and Engrid Meng Residence, surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 13, 1927 in Pound, WI, daughter of the late Fred and Martha (Gohr) Oshefsky.

Cecelia married Charles Chlopek Sr., September 22, 1945 in Oconto, WI. They shared 67 years of marriage and were blessed with 6 children before Charles passed away, February 6, 2013. She was a faithful member of Redeemer Lutheran Church for many years.

Cecelia was a gifted cook and she enjoyed sharing her talents with family and friends. Celia was famous for her fish frys. She took great pride in her appearance right down to her accessories and perfume. She also enjoyed gardening in her abundant gardens and canning the fruits of her labor. Cecelia was a great lover of nature, especially flowers and birds. She was a huge fan of Danny O'Donnell and was fortunate enough to have attended his concert and receive an autograph and an Irish kiss from him. Her greatest joy was her family, especially the little ones. The love she gave and received from them made her glow.

Cecelia is survived by 4 of her children: David (Jeany) Chlopek, Bev (Terry Sr.) Konitzer, Charles "Chuckie" (Bonnie) Chlopek Jr. and Bonnie (Jeff) Domke; son-in-law Dale Kanzenbach; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren and a brother, Roy Oshefsky. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by 2 daughters, Janet (Dan) VerKuilen and Barb Kanzenbach; 3 sisters and 6 brothers.

Visitation will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church (210 Oneida St., Green Bay), Thursday, May 3, 2018 from 10 to 11:30 AM. A funeral service will follow at 11:30 AM. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Oconto Falls.

A special thank you goes out to Bev, Terry and family for taking mom into their loving home during her last years. The support and loving care was a great comfort to mom when it was most needed. A special thank you to Unity Hospice and all the staff who were involved in her care. A thank you also goes to Rev. Paul Pett for his prayers and support.
