Carol Jean Walker

November 12, 1934 — August 21, 2022

Carol Jean Walker, age 87, of Green Bay, passed away peacefully, Sunday, August 21, 2022, surrounded by the love of her entire family. She was born November 12, 1934 in Green Bay, WI, daughter of the late Henry C. and Myrtle J. (Kratz) Radue.

Carol attended Washington Junior High in Green Bay and continued her education at NWTC where she earned her credentials as a Daycare Administrative Assistant. She cared for many children at Playmates in Green Bay for over a decade. Carol relocated to Florida to work as a caregiver for the elderly, providing her loving services for 24 years. Carol married Earl Curtis Walker in 1989 and they shared 15 years together before he passed away in 2004. She was blessed to have gained a bonus family through her marriage to Earl, while maintaining strong ties to her own.

Carol had a soft spot in her heart for children and had many "adopted" children and grandchildren through her work. She was fortunate to have many grandchildren and great grandchildren of her own and even was able to hold her great-great-grandchildren. She was a talented artist and enjoyed painting. Carol was an avid exerciser, walker and loved to dance.

Carol is survived by her children, Belinda (the late Robert) Dow and Randy Ostrenga; step-son, Rick (Sheila) Walker; 3 grandchildren: Jenny (Tay) Dryer, Stacy (Kevin) Sweig and Doug (Jacque) Dow; 3 step-grandchildren: Misty (Dave) Patterson, Jessica (Blaine) Berstresser and Jerrad (Katelyn) Walker; 19 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren and a step-granddaughter-in-law, Natasha Walker. She is further survived by the father of her children, Norman (Shirley) Ostrenga.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earl; a granddaughter, Jayden Dryer; 2 brothers, Earl (Carol) Radue and Harold "Rusty" (Dolores) Radue; a step-grandson, Justin Walker and a grandson-in-law, Shaun Mann.
