Carol Schauer, age 100, passed away peacefully, Monday, July 22, 2024. She was born September 15, 1923 in Sobieski, WI, daughter of the late Stanley and Marie Wojciechowski and was a graduate of Pulaski High School.
Carol married the love of her life, Francis L. Schauer, June 6, 1953 at St. John Canius Parish, Sobieski. They shared 59 loving years of marriage and were blessed with 3 children before Fran preceded her in death, August 3, 2012.
Carol was a volunteer at Bornemann Nursing Home for 45 years in the activity center, always willing to lend a hand wherever needed.
Preparing and enjoying meals with her children and grandchildren brought her great joy. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and cherished her visits with them.
As a founding member of St. Bernard Parish, Carol was strong in her Catholic faith and made many long lasting friendships through her parish, including those in her McDonald's coffee group.
Carol is survived by her children: Mary (Mark) Boncher, Gurnee, IL, James (Shirley) Schauer, Green Bay, WI and Joseph (Yvonne) Schauer, De Pere, WI; 6 grandchildren: Erin (Tom) Abell, Katherine (Alex) Adamic, Ashley (John) Haen, Ben Schauer, Lauren (Max) Kraft and Evan Schauer and 6 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by a sister-in-law, Isabelle Wojciechowski, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Francis; sisters, Lottie (Ray) Schilawski and Irene (Andrew) Pranica; brother, Joseph Wojciechowski; an infant great-granddaughter, Louise Abell and a nephew, John Wojciechowski.
Visitation will be held at St. Bernard Parish (2040 Hillside Dr., Green Bay, WI), Tuesday, July 30, 2024 from 9:30 to 11 AM. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 AM.
