Carol Jean (Cegelski) Millar, 90, Green Bay, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, January 12, 2019.
Carol was born on December 10, 1928 to the late Joseph and Eselda (Wittig) Cegelski in Green Bay. She graduated from Green Bay East High School. On March 8, 1957, Carol married Jim Millar. As a child, Carol's grandparents played a large role in her growing up. Carol developed her love and passion for animals as a young girl; she was plopped on a horse at grandma and grandpa's farm when she was only one year old and was tied on so she wouldn't fall off. She later got her first horse named Chief, where she led parades, worked on the farm, and was in charge of the horse barns at the Brown County Fair. After her marriage to Jim, they then went onto working with dogs (primarily poodles) on the confirmation end as Jim was passionate about obedience. They were lifelong members of Packerland Kennel Club, as well as founders. Carol and Jim were the Chair and Co-Chairs of the annual Packerland Kennel Club Dog Show. When Jim passed away in 2002, Carol took on the sole duty of show chair. Carol spent over 55 years as a Professional Dog Handler, she handled many different breeds originally, but then developed her love of poodles. She showed many Best in Show winning Poodles. She was more than willing to mentor many people over the years. She was well loved in the dog community and will always be remembered for her kindness, bright smile, and as a wonderful giving woman. Many referred to her as their "Dog show Mom".
She is survived by her children, twins, Lisa (Mark) McDowell and Scott (Dawn Wilhelm) Millar, a granddaughter, Taylor (Dr. Anthony) VandeHei and a great granddaughters, Ava and Olivia of San Antonio, TX. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
