Carol Maloney (Francois) was born on Christmas day 12/25/25 (a Christmas baby!) and died on 10/18/24 at 98. As the only child of James and Elizabeth Francois (also a Christmas baby!) she was raised by a loving and extended family. Childhood years were filled with music, dance, theater, cooking, sewing and the joys of lifelong friendships. She married Patrick “Stix” Maloney on June 14, 1947 and while continuing to reside in Green Bay, they raised 4 children.
Early work included WI Public Service and White Store employment. Later, as San Luis Manor activities director, she spearheaded creative activities and entertainment for the residents.
Lifelong talents and enduring passions centered on art projects and baking triumphs. Local collected rocks served as the backdrop for personalized paintings of loved ones, homes and nature scenes. A yearly tradition, which required great undertaking and precision, produced hundreds of holiday cookies, each dozen individually decorated with artistic detail. Children and grandchildren gladly joined in and happily sampled.
Skilled in all food preparation, whether at home or at the cabin up North, she was known to expertly whip up delicious meals for any large, hungry crew. Her storytelling ability, complete with names and dates, was both captivating and astonishing. Always guided by her Catholic faith, she remained generous, gracious, and grateful. For those loved ones who lived afar, she savored every telephone catch-up, always closing each conversation with the Lord’s prayer and her expression, “Now Stay out of trouble!” She was indeed a treasure, one of a kind, and yes, a bit sassy!
She is preceded in death by her husband Patrick, son Dennis, daughter Mary and grandson Patrick. She is survived by her son Dan, son Kevin (Anne), 12 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff at Rennes Health and Rehab Center for their excellent care and Unity Hospice staff for thoughtfully supporting her end of life needs.
