Carol J. Smith, 79, Green Bay, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2014, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born on July 2, 1934, in Green Bay, to the late Leonard & Ceil Menne.
Carol graduated from West High School, where she met and later married Roy Smith.
Carol was a stay at home mom and enjoyed supporting her children in their activities. She later worked for K-Mart, retiring after 28 years alongside her good friend, Pat Conard.
She enjoyed playing cards, bingo with her friend Donna, and spending time with her children, grandchildren and many friends.
Survivors include three children, Scott S. Smith, Kim M. Smith and Sandy L. Smith; and granddaughters, Jennifer Pischke, Carly Smith and Michelle Paters.
She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Gregg H. Smith; brother, Charles "Bud" Menne; and son-in-law, Roland Paters.
Friends may gather from 11:00am until 1:00pm on Saturday, June 28, 2014, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay *(Monroe Ave., is closed. Access to funeral home is available off Madison St., one block West of Monroe and one block north of Chicago)* A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Marian Boyle officiating.
The family would like to thank the staff of Unity Hospice, specifically Sara, Nancy and Cathy, as well as Dr. Kiser and Marlene for their care of Carol during her illness.
