Carol Gerondale, 74, passed away with family at her side on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at her home.
Carol was born on December 21, 1943 in Menominee, MI to William and Ethel (Schrader) Wood. She graduated from Marinette High School in 1962 and married Charles R. Heston in 1963 and later married David L. Gerondale in 1989. She cooked at U.W.G.B. for many years, then worked a few different restaurants.
Dave and Carol bought their retirement home on Lulu Lake in Shawano City in 2002. After Dave passed away, health issues made Carol move back to Green Bay by her family.
She is survived by 4 of 5 children - Cherie (Chris), Cindy (Rod), Chris (Kim) and Carrie (Wally). Also survived by 10 grandchildren - Beth (Miles), Becky (Chris), Heather, Samantha, Stephanie, Kristen (Steven), Clay, Christopher, Brandon and Nicolas, along with 2 great-grandkids - Nora and Krystal, her sister Ethelyn Carlson, her nieces Tracey, her kids and grandkids, Wendy (Mike) and son, and her mother-in-law Madeline Gerondale. Carol leaves her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law - Dennis (Deb), Mike (Debbie), Brenda (Mark) and Therese (Pat) and all their kids and grandkids. She is preceded in death by Dave, her son Charles Jr., Parents, father-in-law Mevin, grandparents, aunts, uncles and some cousins.
Carol was very proud she joined AA in 1984 and celebrated 33 years of sobriety last November.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 24th from 4 PM - 7 PM at Newcomer - Green Bay Chapel, 340 S. Monroe Avenue, Green Bay. A service celebrating her life will follow at 7 PM in the funeral home. Carol will be buried in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Memorials instead of flowers are encouraged and will go to the Jackie Nitschke Scholarship Fund or Unity Hospice. Thanks to my kids for taking care of me until the end and also thanks to Unity Hospice.
