On September 10, 1972 God gifted to us the brightest star that would be known as Carmen LaVida Reid-Bey David, 48, Our Song of Life.
Carmen was known for having a smile that would light up any room and a heart that was full of love. She was also known for being protective of her family.
Carmen played many roles in life: Daughter, Big Sis, Mom, and CNA through which she brought joy into the lives of many people. Carmen beat cancer four times, lived with and battled mental illness, and faced many other struggles in her life with, unfortunately, COVID-19 proving to be the greatest.
On December 7, 2020 at 11:04 am in Fond du Lac County, WI, Carmen finally earned the honor of obtaining her angel wings.
She is survived by her two daughters, Briana Reid (WI) and Chelsea (Danon) Reid-Bey Watson (WI); mother Donna Reid-Bey (WI); brothers Mohammed (Katie) Bey (WI) and Julian (Candace) Hayes (MN); sister Mahtab Reid-Bey (WI); daughter-in-law Shaunte McCullum (WI); the joys of her life grandchildren Neveah, Cassius, and Opal Jane, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other relatives whom she loved dearly.
Carmen has been reunited in heaven with two of her children, Cara Mia and Mario McCullum. May they peacefully fly high in the skies and always soar.
Due to COVID restrictions, a private family gathering will be held.
