Bruce Dahl

March 20, 1954 — June 4, 2012

Bruce W. Dahl, 58, Green Bay, joined his Lord and Savior Monday afternoon, June 4, 2012, following complications from bi-pass surgery. He was born in Minneapolis, MN on March 20, 1954, to Richard and Shirley (Shiffman) Dahl.

Bruce and his wife, Mary were residents of Las Vegas, NV for over 21 years before locating to Green Bay three years ago to be closer to her family. He was a longtime manager in the grocery business, and was currently employed as an events specialist at Cross Mark. Bruce was a member of Christ Alone Church.

Affectionately known as Johnny Vegas, Bruce was a colorful, generous, hard-working, religious, and endearing man who had many interests including gardening, music, desserts, and eclectic memorabilia. He could tell you the Latin name of most flowers, told humorous stories of long-ago road trips to Florida, loved beach vacations in San Clemente, could bake a great cake, was quick to share a heartfelt sentiment of comfort or inspiration, and always showed sincere interest in others and what was happening in their lives. Johnny Vegas was in the process of restoring his Caprice convertible with the planned license plate of IBI UBU. He was also an avid Packers fan, sharing many great moments, including the 2010 Super Bowl and celebration downtown. Anyone who knew Bruce saw him as a truly original, loving and memorable individual, who will be sadly missed and never forgotten.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Lynn (Kispert) Dahl; father, Richard Dahl; brothers, Richard (Paulette) Dahl and Wayne Dahl; sister, Brenda Dahl. He is further survived by his mother-in-law, Mary Kispert; sisters-in-law, Kathy (Mike) Tucker and Ruth (Chris) Christensen; brothers-in-law, William (Linda) Kispert, Joe (Karen) Kispert, Mike (Karen) Kispert, Bob Kispert, and Ron (Amy) Kispert; and beloved nieces, nephews and good friends.

Family and friends may call Saturday, June 9, 2012, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay, from 9:30am until 11:30am. A Memorial Service will be celebrated at the funeral home on Saturday at 11:30am with Rev. Dr. Ted Tromble officiating.
