Brian Hussey died on August 6th, 2022. He was born on June 22, 1959 to John and Mary (Weber) Hussey in Racine, WI. He grew up in Green Bay, graduating from Southwest High School. He enjoyed participating in forensics and cross country in high school.
In his youth, Brian enjoyed outdoor activities such as camping, hiking and skiing with his family. Brian especially loved sailing the family daysailer on the bay of Green Bay. He was an excellent biker, embracing the challenges of long distance biking, and once completed a 200 mile double century ride sponsored by a local radio station. His family stayed up late at night to listen to Brian's live interview on the radio station. He was an avid reader, highly intelligent and attended UW Madison for a year.
As a promising writer, he traveled to gain experiences to fuel his writing. There was a time during which he also had plans to build a guitar by hand and sail a boat around the world.
Later in life, Brian lived with mental health issues. Despite his challenges, he remained a kind and good man. He was gentle, generous and fun with his six nieces and nephews, enjoying their company and joining in their goofy games. He is fondly remembered by his entire family.
Brian is survived by his mother, Mary Hussey and three brothers: Michael Hussey (Patti), Barry Hussey, and Kevin Hussey (Michelle), nieces and nephews: Megan Dockendorff (Andy), Bill Hussey (Kristen), Bob Hussey, Jack Hussey, Kate Hussey, and Hannah Hussey.
His father, John Hussey preceded him in death.
A heartfelt thank you to all the people over the years who helped take care of Brian.
