Brian James Flynn, 56, of Green Bay, passed away unexpectedly at home Monday, May 16, 2022. Brian was born October 7, 1965, in Green Bay to the late John and Patricia (Slattery) Flynn. Brian graduated from West High School in 1984 and then attended Cornell College, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts Education and Spanish.
Brian was a dedicated employee for over 26 years at the Radisson Inn and Conference Center and he worked briefly at The Walnut Room of the Hotel Northland. Brian was proud to make every guest and customer feel special when he waited on them or provided them room service. He loved to add extra touches of creativity to his work for VIP customers and customers who were celebrating special occasions.
Brian had a flair for food preparation and presentation which he enjoyed sharing with his customers at the Radisson and with his family at birthday and holiday gatherings. His enjoyment of culinary delights was no doubt influenced by his childhood exposure to Julia Child in The French Chef and Graham Kerr in The Galloping Gourmet on public television. Brian loved music, especially the jazzy pop stylings of bands like the Style Council and Swing Out Sister. He loved classic movies and regularly quoted his favorite movie lines, weaving them into his everyday vernacular. He was fluent in all matters James Bond.
Brian will be missed by his family. He is survived by his siblings, Ellen Filipenko, Tim (Jay Arias-Flynn) Flynn, Molly Flynn (Peter Georgacopoulos), and John (Dawn) Flynn. He is survived by nieces Melinda Larscheid, Shawna Filipenko, Brenna Filipenko, Carmen Flynn, Zoe Flynn, Maria and Kristina Georgacopoulos and by nephews Colin Flynn and Alec Flynn. He is further survived by his aunt Kathryn Lefeber and her children. He was predeceased by his parents and by his brother-in-law Mike Filipenko.
Friends and family may call at a memorial gathering to be held on Wednesday, May 25th, from 3:00 - 5:00 PM at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, 340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay, WI 54301. A private Interment will take place on Thursday, May 26th, at Fort Howard Cemetery.
