Bob Dappern

April 19, 1943 — February 16, 2021

Robert (Bob) J. Dappern, 77, passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2021, at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee following complications from chronic health conditions. The son of the late Clarence and Lucille (Marchant) Dappern, Bob was born at home on the family farm on April 19, 1943, in Bay Settlement.

Bob was a graduate of Holy Cross Catholic School and Green Bay Preble High School, Class of 1962. Bob operated a Pepperidge Farm distributorship or "cookie route" as he fondly referred to it for many years. After the sale of the distributorship, he worked as a custodian for the Green Bay Public School System, with most of his years spent at Edison Middle School, retiring in April of 2008. Following retirement, Bob missed the socialization his work provided, and began working part-time for Bonded Transportation Services until the time of his passing.

He was a sports enthusiast and talented athlete who played on many area softball and slow pitch teams during his younger years. He was a loyal fan of the Green Bay Packers his entire life and was always proud to share the stories of attending all of their games, way back to when they first played at City Stadium at East High School. He was a season-ticket holder for many years, until he transferred the tradition to his son when his health began to decline. In addition to his beloved Packers, he was also a huge fan of the Bucks, Brewers and Badgers, and especially enjoyed listening to Bob Uecker call a Brewer game and hearing Max McGee and Jim Irwin on the horn for the Packers.

Bob is survived by and will be greatly missed by his children, Jodi (Rob) Delahaut, Green Bay; and David (Jolene) Dappern, De Pere; his grandchildren, Aubree Delahaut and Tyson and Jack Dappern. Bob is also survived by two sisters, Carol Conard and Mary Schauer; his Godchildren, Tom Conard and Kevin Schauer, as well as numerous other nieces and nephews of whom their "Uncle Dooper" was very fond of. His former wife, Diane Dappern further survives him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Kermit Conard, Thomas Schauer and Godchild, Shannon Voegtline.
