Beverly B. Degroot

Beverly B. DeGroot, age 92, of Green Bay, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 18, 2018 with her daughter at her side. She was born July 5, 1926 in Green Bay, daughter of the late Fred and Louise (Delloye) Burckle.

Beverly attended grade school at St. John the Evangelist School and was a lifelong member of the Parish. She graduated from Green Bay East High School. Beverly married Warren DeGroot, November 30, 1946 at St. John the Evangelist Parish and together they shared 67 loving years of marriage before he preceded her in death, May 31, 2014.

Beverly was first and foremost a loving wife and mother. She was an amazing caregiver to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Beverly was an avid doll collector and member of a local doll club. She collected hundreds of dolls and also enjoyed sewing clothes for them. She raised, bred and showed standard poodles and was active in the Packerland Kennel Club. Beverly and her late husband, Warren, shared a love of collecting things and activities related to their many collections. Her family also remembers her as a talented gardener with a special love for her rose bushes. Her greatest joy was her family.

Beverly is survived by her 5 children: Dennis (Patty) DeGroot, Paul (special friend Robin) DeGroot, Mark (Amy) DeGroot, Pamela (Arlen) Pelishek and Pat (Debbie) DeGroot; grandchildren: John DeGroot, Alex (Julia) DeGroot, Joshua (Tiffany) DeGroot, Garrett (Mandi) DeGroot, Michael (Allyssa) Pelishek, Nicole & Christopher Pelishek, Hunter & Logan DeGroot, Katie (John) Pitlik, Emily & Ryan DeGroot; 12 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her sisters, Rita (Charles) Barrett and Beatrice (Charlie) Hill; brothers-in-law, Elroy (Thelma) DeGroot and Jack (Jeannette) DeGroot and sisters-in-law, June (Ralph) Kelly.

Visitation will be held at Newcomer-Green Bay Chapel (340 S. Monroe Ave.), Friday, September 28, 2018 from 4 to 7 PM. A prayer service will conclude the visitation at 7 PM. Visitation will continue at St. John the Evangelist Parish (413 St. John St., Green Bay), Saturday, September 29, 2018 from 10 to 11 AM. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 AM with Fr. Paul DeMuth, celebrant. Entombment will be in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.
