Betty A. Panten (nee Rogne) was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at age 83. She was born in De Pere, Wisconsin, on May 9, 1939 to the late Orville Rogne and Anne Rogne Kleuskens. As the oldest of five kids, she grew up on the family farm and helped to care for her brothers and sister. Later, she went on to graduate from East De Pere High School in 1957. She married the late Gerald C. Panten on November 20, 1960. They were married for 53 years and raised three children together. During her lifetime, she worked in medical records at Bellin Hospital and Brown County Mental Health Center.
Some of the things that Betty enjoyed most were being involved with her church community, singing in the choir, gardening, and being a grandmother. She was also a voracious reader and an accomplished artist. She worked in watercolors, pastels, oils, and rosemaling. Throughout her life she was a talented seamstress, and in her later years, also became a master quilter often giving quilted art as gifts.
She is survived by her three children, Charles (Wen) Panten, Max Panten, and Maggie (Kevin) Johnson; four grandchildren, Emily, Jacob, and Hannah Panten, and Sophie Johnson; one brother, Ronald Rogne; dear friend, Karen Suemnick, and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Anne; her father and mother-in-law, Alvin and Marie Panten; her husband, Gerald; her brothers, Richard and Robert Rogne; her sister, Ilo Reese; brother and sister-in-law, Dale and Grace Panten; and cousins, Ira and Francine Miller.
Family would like to extend a very special thanks to her Unity Hospice team as well as the caring staff of Emerald Bay Memory Care Unit.
