Beryl M. Anders, age 83, of Green Bay, passed away quietly and peacefully, Wednesday, August 10, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 30, 1933 in Milwaukee, daughter of the late Adolf and Ellen (LaCombe) Balfanz and was a 1952 graduate of Green Bay West High School.
Beryl enlisted in the United States Navy after graduation and served her country honorably as a W.A.V.E. during the Korean War. Beryl earned her Bachelor's Degree in Human Biology and Early Childhood Education and went on to earn her Master's Degree from UW-Green Bay and NWTC. She owned and operated It's a Small World Nursery Schools & Day Care Centers for 35 years. Beryl taught Human Growth and Development and Early Childhood Education at NWTC for 19 years as well as UW-Green Bay.
She achieved much and touched many in her life. All that knew Beryl will remember her as the life of the party, a wonderfully caring person, a gifted story-teller and someone you just could not forget.
Beryl is survived by her sons, Tom (Susan) Anders and Bill (Karen) Anders; 5 grandchildren: Tony Ruiz, Josh Anders, Alyssa Ruiz, Bailei Anders and Rylei Anders; 3 great-grandchildren: Vivian Ruiz, Jackson Anders and Bohdi Ruiz; 2 brothers, Larry (Annette) LaCombe and Bob (Jenni) LaCombe; niece, Terri McCracken and nephews, Dan and Dave Culbertson.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Nancy (Dan) Culbertson and step-father, Don LaCombe.
Visitation will be held at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME (340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay), Monday, August 15, 2016 from 3 to 5:45 PM. A memorial service will follow at 6 PM with full military honors.
