Bernice "Bunny" Reilley (Waldon) died peacefully at home on March 30, 2016 in Green Bay, WI at the age of 81.
Bunny was born on Jan 6, 1935 in Laona, WI to Viola and Herbert Waldon. She graduated from Crandon High School in 1952, enlisted in the U.S Naval Reserve in 1954 and married Jerome E. Reilley of Green Bay, in 1955. Bunny worked for Red Owl Stores Inc. for 13 years from 1971 - 1985. During that time she also attended NWTC, graduating with honors in 1971 with an associates degree in Clerical Office Administration. She was also awarded NWTC student of the year in 1971. Bunny later worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 12 ½ years and retired in 1996. Her children remember her as a kind, generous, independent, mother who endlessly gave of herself to all of her family and friends.
Bunny was a long time member of Bethany Methodist Church and the TOPs club. Since retirement she has been a snowbird, spending most winters in Panama City Beach, Fl and the rest of the year in Green Bay. Bunny was full of energy and was also lovingly known to many as the "energizer Bunny". She enjoyed playing cards, golf, bingo, darts, and shuffle board. She was a loyal packer fan and a dedicated member of the Red Hat Society.
Bunny is survived by her children, Deanna Reilley (Mark) Vinson of Ashland, WI and Patricia Reilley (Tom) Wauters of Green Bay, WI; her sister, Janet Waldon (Joseph) Weier of Green Bay and twin brothers Norman Waldon of Green Bay and James (Sue) Waldon of Iron River, MI; four grandchildren, Joshua Wauters of Green Bay, Ashley Wauters (Mike) Brennan of Minneapolis, MN, Cody Vinson of Minneapolis, MN and Tanner Vinson of Ashland, WI; and three great grandchildren, Seth and Mya Wauters, and Olivia Brennan. She is preceded in death by her son Kerry Patrick Reilley, her parents Viola and Herbert Waldon, her sisters Audrey Willis Besaw of Green Bay, Julie Waldon Kneiss of Newald, WI, and Norene Willis Broten, of Ladysmith, WI.
Everyone is welcome to attend and celebrate Bunny's life at a visitation held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 340 S. Monroe Avenue, Green Bay, on Saturday April 2 from 1-4 p.m.with a short prayer service following. Bunny's ashes will be interred at Fort Howard Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Bunny's name envelopes will be available at the funeral home. The family would like to thank Heartland Hospice as well as Green Bay Oncology physicians, caregivers, and staff for their care, compassion and dedication. We would also like to extend a special thank you to Jill Smith and her neighbors Katy and Maureen O'Connell for all the love and kindness they showed our mother.
