Bernice Josephine Hockers, 90, Green Bay, entered into Eternal Life Wednesday, November 19, 2014 surrounded by her family. She was born September 18, 1924 to the late George and Nellie (Linssen) VanDenHeuvel. Bernice married the late Howard Hockers on May 3, 1947.
Survivors include her children, Steven Hockers, Gail (Mike) Van Straten, Mary Rentmeester, Ellen LeMay, Glen (Linda) Hockers; sisters, Elaine Leiberg, Joan (Fran) Froelich, Marilyn (Al) Gokey; grandchildren, John (Cathi) Hockers, Kristine (Jon) Schultz, Jennifer (Tony) Alexander, Andrew Zimonick, Wendy (John) Diamond, Melissa (Dave) Hageness, Matthew LeMay, Andrea LeMay, Rachel Hockers; 13 great-grandchildren; in-laws Margie Hockers, Arlene Krug; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Bernice was preceded in death by her husband, Howard; parents, George and Nellie; sister, Eleanor (John) O'Hara; daughter-in-law, Shirley Hockers; other relatives: Don VandenBusch, Louis Leiberg, Elmer Hockers, Richard (Lavonne) Hockers, Roland Hockers, Don Hockers, Dorothy Kusch, and Sister Alberta Hockers.
Family and friends may call Saturday, November 22, 2014, at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 130 St. Matthew St., Green Bay, from 9:00am until 11:00am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Saturday at the church with Rev. Philip Dinh-Van-Thiep officiating. Entombment will be at Allouez Catholic Mausoleum.
