Bernard G. Schlagenhaft, 81, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 22, 2019. He was born on September 20, 1938 to the late August and Margaret (Beining) Schlagenhaft in Marshfield, Wisconsin.
Barney was a hard worker. He worked at American National Can for over 35 years and ended his career at Bertrand Hydraulics. Barney's passion in life was spending time with his family. He and his late wife, Ann, were blessed with four beautiful children. He was further blessed with four step-children when he married the love of his life, Deb, in 2001. He loved to hunt and fish with family. He also enjoyed bowling and watching sports, especially The Packers, Brewers, Bucks and Badgers. He also enjoyed going to Green Bay Gambler Games. Barney enjoyed drinking beer, "there are only two kinds of beer: free and cold."
Barney is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Deb; two daughters: Sherry Zepnick and Peggy (Bruce) Leaman; two sons: Rodney (Debbie Gardipee) and Victor Schlagenhaft; two step-daughters: Carla (Todd) Wondra and Chandra Laedtke; two step-sons: Bryan (Melanie) Laedtke and Kevin (Kayla) Laedtke; three brothers: Jim (the late Mary Jane), Bill (Mary) and Earl (Carol)Schlagenhaft; three sisters: Lorraine Kemp, Dorothy (the late Frank) Bremmer and Carol (the late Jim) Morgan; 20 grandchildren and one great grandchild. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Barney is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Ann; two children: Rosemary and Todd Michael and three siblings: LaVerne, Betty and Tom.
Visitation will be held at Newcomer (340 S. Monroe Ave.) on Friday, October 25th from 11 AM to 1 PM. A funeral service will follow at 1 PM. Entombment will take place at Nicolet Memorial Gardens.
