Bernadine Watzka, 85, of Green Bay, beloved wife of the late Bernard Watzka, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, March 21, 2021.
Bernadine was born on June 4, 1935 daughter of the late Alvin and Mary Arveson.
Her life was spent as a loving homemaker, very involved in her children's lives growing up. In her earlier years she enjoyed bowling, dancing, knitting, crocheting, and playing cards. She was a wonderful cook and baker.
She is survived by four children: Mary (David) DeBauche, Ann DeStarkey, Judith Ritchie and her fiance' Clarence Ducat, and Bernard (Lisa) Watzka Jr., along with 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Bernadine also leaves her sisters: Jane Loritz and Marion Haltaufderheide, in laws: Merle (Delores) Watzka, Rosemary Stencil, Jerome Watzka, Tony (Karen) Watzka, Mike (Mary Lou) Watzka, Dorothy Watzka and Cyril Cieslewicz. She also leaves numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Bernadine is preceded in death by her parents, husband Bernard, five siblings: Lorayne (Errol) VanSeggren, Carl (Beatrice) Arveson, Aaron (Verona) Arveson, Bernard (Ann) Arveson, and Karen Arveson. Sister-In-Law, Laverne (Joe) Phillips and Joanne Cieslewicz, brothers-in-law, Dale Haltaufderheide, Cyril Loritz, and Roger Watzka, and a grandson, Lucas DeStarkey, son-in-law, Ron Ritchie.
A private service will be held with the family. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions in her honor may be directed to St. John's Homeless Shelter. Newcomer - Green Bay Chapel is handling the arrangements.
