Bernadine B. Pillsbury, age 101 and three months, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2022 at Woodside Lutheran Home. She was born on May 4, 1921 the daughter of the late Peter and Leona (Shelter) Blecke. Bernadine met the love of her life while working at Schillings and married Francis Pillsbury in 1944. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Barbara and Jeffrey. While Barbara and Jeff were in school, Bernadine fostered children from the surrounding area that were blind. She would provide a great family atmosphere during the week while in school and they would return home for the weekends. Bernadine was a charter member of Bethany Methodist Church, and was active in the choir, loved playing the piano, and enjoyed teaching Sunday school for 35 years. In her spare time she was an avid reader and loved sewing, embroidery, knitting, and tatting. She always had a special place in her heart for her dogs, including her current best friend Scotty.
Bernadine is survived by her daughter, Barbara, her son, Jeff, sister-in-law, Marcia Ward, nephew, Charles (Joan) Blecke nieces: Denise Blecke and Deb Danielson further survived by more nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Francis, and brother, Peter Blecke.
Friends and family may visit at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, Receptions, 340 S. Monroe Ave on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 pm. Private interment to take place at Nicolet Memorial Gardens. The family would like to thank Woodside Lutheran Home and their staff for taking such wonderful care of Bernadine.
