Beatrice Coenen, 91, De Pere, died peacefully with family by her side on December 2, 2016. Beatty was born on February 4, 1925 in De Pere to Napoleon and Barbara Gerarden. On January 6, 1947 she married Herbert Coenen, the love of her life, and they were together for almost 64 years.
No matter what words we choose, they will be insufficient to adequately describe who this wonderful woman was. She loved life, and cared deeply for people.
Beatty was a compassionate, patient, generous person who always put others ahead of herself. She was a humble, gentle soul and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She taught us all so much about life and how to be better people just by the example she set. So many people were blessed by her heartfelt care and concern. Filled with hospitality, whenever someone was in need, she was ready, offering her help which included her best-you-ever-tasted homemade meals and gourmet desserts. Beatty will be VERY sadly missed by us all. There is a big heart-shaped hole missing in our lives now. But we rejoice with her that she gets to see the God of her faith face to face.
Beatrice is survived by three of her children: Gary H (Bev) Coenen, Suamico; Ron (Judy) Coenen, De Pere; Dawn (Joie) Kampen, De Pere; son-in-law, Jim Lasee, Bellingham, WA; ten cherished grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren: Tiffany (Chris) Sanders and their children Lauren, Anna and Mary; Graham (Erika) Lasee and their children Ella and Kayson; Melissa (Ty) Little and their children Teddy and Elliott; Melissa Lantz; Matt Coenen; Jacob Kampen; Jed (Bria) Kampen and their children Haddon and baby on the way; Lena (Kaidon) Hempton; Luke Kampen; Shane (Dee) Wolford and their daughter MyKenzie.
