Barbara Zeller

Barbara Zeller, age 87, a lifelong resident of Green Bay, passed away peacefully, Saturday, December 5, 2020 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 4, 1933 in Green Bay, daughter of the late Einar and Josephine (Everard) Eliason and was a graduate of Green Bay West High School, Class of 1951.

Barb continued her education at Northwestern University, Chicago, IL, after which she worked for Bell Telephone Company. She met and married Donald L. Zeller, September 2, 1957. Barbara and Don shared 38 loving years of marriage before he preceded her in death in 1995.

Barbara was an active member of many clubs and organizations in the Green Bay area, including the Catholic Women's Club, Green Bay Antiquarian Society, 3 Bridge clubs and her Wednesday morning coffee club. Barbara devoted countless hours of her time volunteering at NEW Homeless Shelter. She was a woman of very strong faith and a lifelong member of St. John the Evangelist Parish.

Barb's favorite hobbies included skiing, boating, kayaking, tennis and spending time with her family at her beloved Door County cottage. She was an avid skier and could take any Black Diamond run at a pace of 2 miles per hour! First and foremost, Barb was a devoted wife, loving mother and a proud grandmother.

Barbara is survived by her 5 children: Ann (Robert) Zeller-Bielefeldt, Mary (Bryan) Lueth, Peter (Lisa) Zeller, Chris (Susan) Zeller and David Zeller; 9 grandchildren: Matthew and Scott Bielefeldt, Erica and Katie (Daniel) Lueth, Abby, Nate and Jackson Zeller, Alyssa and Brooke Zeller; her brother, James (Fran) Eliason and a sisters and brothers-in-law, Joe (Joanne) Roth and Alfred (Alice) Zeller.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Nan (Robert) Greiser.

Visitation will be held at St. John the Evangelist Parish (427 St. John St., Green Bay), Thursday, December 10, 2020 from 9 to 11 AM. Your presence means the world to the family, so please practice social distancing and refrain from offering hugs or handshakes and be prepared to wear a facial covering. A private Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated by the immediate family. Burial will be in Allouez Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials directed to NEW Homeless Shelter or St. John's Homeless Shelter in Barbara's name are appreciated.
