Barbara J. Albers, age 65, of Green Bay, passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2023, with her family at her side, after a brief illness. She was born November 2, 1957 in Green Bay, daughter of the late John and Joanne (L'Heureux) Mohr and was a graduate of St. Joseph Academy, Class of 1976.
Barbara married her high school sweetheart, Martin "Marty" Albers, August 28, 1981 and they shared 41 years of marriage. Her primary role as a caregiver allowed her to raise her 2 sons and later was able to offer her loving care as a home health aide for Home Instead.
Barbara had a generous and loving nature, always placing the needs of others before herself. She was an avid reader and loved solving crossword puzzles. Cross stitch and sewing were also amongst her hobbies. Barbara held a soft spot in her heart for animals and enjoyed the family pets and her furgrandbabies. Her greatest joy was becoming a grandmother to her 3 beloved grandchildren.
Barbara is survived by her husband, Marty; her 2 sons, Tyler (Élise) and Nicholas (Marina Gustafson); 3 grandchildren: Louella, Lawson and Charlotte and 2 siblings, Catherine Holck and Susan (Dr. James) Williams. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Judy (James) Andrew and two young brothers, John and Steven.
Visitation will be held at Newcomer-Green Bay Chapel (340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay), Saturday, July 8, 2023 from 9 to 11 AM. A memorial service will follow at 11 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials directed to the family will be used for a memorial fund established at a later date.
Barbara's family would like thank the doctors and staff at Bellin Hospital in their ICU for their incredible care and support.
