Audrey F. O'Neil, 88, passed away at her home with her children at her side, Sunday, December 25, 2022. She wanted to celebrate Christmas in Heaven. She was born February 23, 1934 in Maple Grove, WI, daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Dvorachek) Geiger.
Audrey attended St. Mary's Grade School and was a graduate of Brillion High School, Class of 1952. She married Joseph G. O'Neil, June 18, 1955 in Brillion and they were blessed with 5 children.
Audrey was very creative and loved to crochet gifts for family and friends. After raising 5 children, Audrey decided to pursue a career in floral design, which allowed her to continue sharing her gift of creativity. Audrey's love of flowers started with her employment with Green Bay Floral. That 20 year employment gave her life long friends.
Audrey's faith was very important to her and was always with her until the end of her life. She was an active member of St. Francis Xavier Cathedral Parish and their prayer network until her death. She also gave of her time through volunteer work with the Salvation Army, serving on their Auxiliary Board and assisted with the annual Christmas giving events and golf outings.
Audrey moved into Bellevue Senior Living Lifestyle Community in April of 2015. She soon referred to her new home as "The Castle." Audrey was a very active woman, engaging in all of the activities they had to offer and forging lasting friendships, especially with her friend, Cookie. She was an Ambassador to the new residents and loved meeting her new neighbors. Audrey lived her faith and took great pride in the weekly Catholic Mass. She set a great example for her children and grandchildren to follow. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Audrey is survived by her 5 children: Susan L. (Mark) Roznowski, Peggy A. Malcore, Sandra M. (David Wilfer) O'Neil, Richard J. (Robin) O'Neil and James P. (Brenda) O'Neil; grandchildren: Paul (Amy) Roznowski, Andrew (Melissa) Roznowski, Melissa (Doug) Konop, Michael (Keri) Malcore, Megan (Mike) Podnar, Tony King, Rachel (Brett Evans) O'Neil, Wyatt O'Neil, Molly O'Neil, Melissa Wilfer and Michael Wilfer; great-grandchildren: Samantha Konop, Evan Konop and Carmen Roznowski and her sister, Alice Hoyer. She is further survived by 2 sisters-in-law, Lorraine Geiger and Shirley Geiger, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph G. O'Neil, her brothers: Harold (Lorraine), Joseph, Raymond and Francis; a son-in-law, Randy Malcore; a great-grandson, Anthony Roznowski; brother-in-law, Joseph Hoyer; sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Watt and Kathleen (Ronald) Engels and other relatives.
Visitation will be held at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral (140 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay, WI), Saturday, December 31, 2022 from 9 to 11 AM. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 AM with Fr. Brian Belongia, celebrant. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, De Pere, WI.
In lieu of flowers, memorials directed to Salvation Army or St. Francis Xavier Cathedral in Audrey's name are appreciated.
