Audrey M. Hamernik, age 84, of Green Bay, passed away peacefully, Thursday, January 10, 2019 with her family by her side. She was born October 20, 1934 in Algoma, WI to the late William "Bill" and Appleonia (Metzler) Junio. Audrey was 1 of 10 children.
Audrey married Anthony Hamernik, May 7, 1955 and they shared 63 loving years of marriage and were blessed with 5 children and 7 grandchildren.
Audrey worked as a telephone operator in Green Bay and later she worked in the office at Aluminum Goods in Manitowoc. She started her full time employment after raising her 5 children, working for Green Bay Schools as a para-professional.
Audrey liked playing cards, gardening, volunteering for theatre, church, Greater Green Bay Tourism and St. Vincent DePaul. She loved traveling and she made many trips across the country and abroad. She made many special memories camping with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Anthony; 5 children: Anne (John) Beardall, CA, Alan Hamernik, Green Bay, Amy (Brad) Truskowski, MN, Ava (Nick) Marks, Appleton and Andy (Joelle) Hamernik, Madison and 7 wonderful grandchildren: Hal, Jesse, Jaime, Zachary, Michael, Austin and Aubrin. She is further survived by 2 wonderful brothers and their wives, Francis (Diane) Junio and Tom (Jean) Junio.
Preceding her in death are brothers and sisters: Lloyd (Pearl) Junio, Raymond (Shirley) Junio , Rosemary (Clifford) Delsart, Kenneth (Jean) Junio, Leroy Junio, Shirley (Melvin) Moreau and Sharlene (Gary) Kostichka and other relatives, in-laws and friends from school.
A celebration of Audrey's life will be held at St. Bernard Parish (2040 Hillside Ln., Green Bay), Tuesday, January 15, 2019 from 9:30 to 11 AM. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 AM with Fr. Mark VanderSteeg, celebrant. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Kellnersville, WI.
